All kinda of books are welcome, from fiction to non-fiction. Anyone can suggest a book, the title is then add to the pot of books already suggested. Any member can recommend any number of books. The Title and Author are written on a slip of paper and added to existing slips. We take it in turns to draw the next book out.

We tried to have no rules at all but decided that the book should be available in paperback rather than just hard back or in e-books, due to cost. Some members also only take books from the library. Web address of Cambridge Central Library to reserve books or access e-book versions. The only other rule we want to keep to, but regularly break, is to try to select books around 300 pages. We read non fiction as well as fiction and old classics as well as modern.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Ancient Shepherds Public House. We are very welcoming. There are lovely comfortable leather sofas  to relax on and, in winter, there is an open fire. On our annual anniversary we order a few celebratory 'nibbles'.

We meet at the Ancient Shepherds, as its nice location and we get the space for free, so feel free to get a drink or 2 while you're there.

At Christmas, we decide on our favourite book of the last 12 months.

Next Meeting 3rd June and the book Burial Rites
